This oil painting, Ammonite, is part of a series titled Waterflower, dedicated to the Tasman Glacier in New Zealand, following an on-site study by the artist, Hayley Byron. More broadly, this painting corresponds with a body of work based on the water cycle.

ORIGINAL OIL PAINTING

The original was hand-painted in oil on canvas, and is custom framed in sustainably sourced Tasmanian oak. The dimensions in cm are: 63 (width) x 48 (height) x 5 (depth), including the frame. 

As an environmentally-friendly alternative to traditional oil painting methods, this work was created with a limited palette, non-toxic medium and solvent free.

Edition of 30

Limited editions are printed reproductions of the original drawing. A finite amount are released and each print is signed by the artist.

To ensure fade resistance, limited editions are professionally produced with archival pigment inks on museum-grade, textured cotton rag.

Please note, limited edition prints are unframed, and an additional 3cm blank border is added to each edge of the paper.

Colour

Whilst every effort has been made to accurately colour match the print to the original artwork, there may be slight variations. Please note, colours may appear differently on your device screen, compared to the artwork in real life.

Framing

Original paintings and drawings are framed, and ready to hang on your wall. Limited edition prints are unframed. If possible, framing of your limited edition print is recommended (ideally, with a matte board separating the print from the glass, or in a floater / shadow box frame). For advice on the best option for your print, please consult your local framer.

Medium

Original artwork is created by hand (non-digitally) with oil paint and/or traditional drawing media, such as willow charcoal and graphite. As an environmentally-friendly alternative to traditional oil painting methods, most paintings are created with a limited palette, non-toxic medium and solvent free. Paintings are framed with sustainable timbers. Limited editions are Giclée reproductions of the original artwork, produced with archival pigment inks on museum-grade, fine art paper (acid-free, 320gsm French made, cold press, textured cotton rag).

Shipping

If you're interested in purchasing an original oil painting or drawing (framed), freight will be factored into the pricing provided. The estimated freight timeframe will be advised upon purchase. To ensure a smooth journey, limited edition prints are sent unframed and rolled in a protective mailing tube. All domestic orders for prints within Australia are sent via Australia Post, and original artwork is sent via a courier. Please note, domestic orders may take around 2-3 weeks to arrive (and longer for international orders), as this allows for production time and postage. If you would like to speed up delivery, express postage is available at checkout.
